School Profile

Greater St. Albert Catholic Regional School Division has schools located in the communities of St. Albert, Morinville, and Legal. Prior to the School Board Amalgamations that occurred on January 1, 1995, Morinville was originally part of the Guibault Roman Catholic School Division.  Ecole Georges. H. Primeau Middle School was originally constructed as a grade 7-12 school and opened their doors in 1980. However, in 1994, a new grade 10-12 high school in the community of Morinville opened and GHP then was reconfigured as a grade 6-9 school. In 2001, an additional wing was added to the high school to accommodate grade 9 students from our school to alleviate overcrowding conditions. Subsequently, our school was reconficured as a grade 6 to 8 school for the next 13 years. In 2012, due to the transfer of a facility from our district to the public school system, there was a grade reconfiguration where the school welcomed the grade fives from both Ecole Notre Dame and Vanier Schools. Presently, there are approximately 24 FTE of teachers and 11 FTE of support staff that deliver and support the delivery of English track and French Immersion programming to 450 students in grades 5-8.
